Brian is a lifelong resident of Ashland, Kentucky. He is a graduate of Boyd County High School and Mid-America College of Funeral Service where he served as Tyler of the Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity Lambda-Kappa Chapter and has been with Steen Funeral Homes since 1996 . Brian is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 350, the Ashland Morning Kiwanis Club where he served as president and currently serves on the Board, he also served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross North East Kentucky Chapter. Brian chairs the Veterans Appreciation Luncheon each year during the Veterans Day celebrations.

Bill has been with the Steen Funeral Homes since 1967. He is a 1964 Graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, is a member of the First Baptist Church and Ashland Area Business Boosters, and formerly served on the Board of directors for the American Red Cross Boyd County Chapter. Bill is married to Pebble Fields and has three sons, Michael, Brad and Jason.

Marshall Steen

Marshall Steen

Consulting Funeral Director

Marshall is a lifelong resident, third generation funeral director and embalmer and a graduate of Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, Class of 1974. His involvements include Ashland Rotary Club, where he serves on the Board of Directors. He is currently serving as the Boyd County Magistrate, sits on the Board of Directors of Friends of Ashland Cemetery and Board of Directors of the Ashland Alliance, and is a member of the Poage Masonic Lodge #325 F.&A.M. and the Ashland Commandry of the Knights Templar, as well as the BPO Elks Lodge #350. He is President of Steen Cannon and Ordinance Works, a company that reproduces artillery for the National Park Service. Marshall is co-founder and committee chair for Dining with the Past. He is member of First United Methodist Church, where he has served on various boards, and formerly served on the Board of Directors of Ashland Cemetery. Marshall has three sons, Will and Zack Steen and Jason Gullett.

Rusty joined the staff of Steen Funeral Homes in 2005. He is a 1982 graduate of Russell High School and a 1996 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service and has worked in the funeral industry since 1980. He is the husband of Marsha Gerahart Vanhoose and father to Samantha Vanhoose and Kevin Vanhoose.

Patricia L. Steen

Funeral Director

Pat has been a licensed funeral director since 2002. Pat is Past President of the Ashland Lions Club and a former King's Daughters Medical Center Volunteer. She currently serves on the Community Hospice Board of Directors, Dining with the Past Committee, Our Lady of Bontefelle Hospital Auxiliary, and PWA. Pat is a member of the First United Methodist Church where she has served on various boards. Pat has three sons, Jason Gullett and Will and Zack Steen.




Mary L. VanHoose

Mary has been a Licensed Funeral director since 1986. She is a member of the Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church where she serves as Trustee, Ponderosa Homemakers Club, a Charter Member of the Greenhill Eastern Star #567 and a graduate of Boyd County High School. She is married to Ray VanHoose and has three children, Phyllis (Roger) Stevens, Terri (Chris) Hensley and Mark (April) VanHoose. She has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Andrew W. Imel

Andrew W. Imel

Apprentice Funeral Director & Embalmer

Andrew is a 2011 graduate of Greenup County High School and a 2016 graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He is a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity, where he served as Tyler.

Andrew is the son of Roy Imel and Rhonda Miller Imel of Greenup. His family has owned and operated Imel's Greenhouse in Greenup since 1977.

He is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and Vigil Honor with Order of the Arrow. He is engaged to Madison Mantz and attends Greenup United Methodist Church.

Ambassador

Art has been with Steen Funeral Homes since 1999. He is a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and attends the First Church of God, Ashland. Art is a member of the Arbor Day Foundation and National Home and Garden and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ashland Shelter of Hope. He is married to Linda Handloser and has one son, Nathaniel.

Ray Lester McCann

Ray has been an ambassador with Steen Funeral Homes since 2004. He retired from the Ashland Public Schools in 1987 following 40 years of service as teacher and administrator. He is a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. Ray served for twelve years as tour director for a local touring company. He has served as a volunteer with King's Daughters Medical Center since 1998 and is a long time member of South Ashland United Methodist Church, Gideons International, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and Ashland-Boyd County Retired Teachers Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Clay McCann, in 1984. He has one daughter, Arland (Greg) White, a grandson, Evan (Lisa Mueller) White, and a great-grandson, Knox Oliver White.

Pastor Acy J. Gibson

Acy has been an ambassador for Steen Funeral Homes since February 2015.

He is a graduate of Ashland High School. He and his wife Joyce (Van Horn) have been married for 53 years. They have two sons, Greg (Michelle) Gibson and Barry (Darlene) Gibson, and five grandchildren.

Acy has been in the ministry for 51 years and has pastored in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. He enjoys the ministry and spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Pastor Ed Caudill

Ambassador

Ed is a 1968 graduate of Boyd County High School. He retired after many years of service from Kentucky Power Company and the Boyd County Board of Education.

Brother Ed is the pastor of Second Baptist Church on Williams Avenue in Ashland.

He is married to Markita Hagan Caudill and has two children, Andy and Sara.

Pastor Caudill is a valued member of the Steen Funeral Homes and makes himself available to all families in need.


Harold Riffe

Ambassador

Harold R. Riffe is an ambassador for Steen Funeral Homes and has been employed by us for several years. Harold is a retired career service man and served in the United States Army for 34 years. He attends Cannonsburg First Baptist Church and regularly visits Veterans at the Virginia Hospital in Huntington. He enjoys time with his family and loves to fish. He has been married to Ann Grimes for 42 years, and they have two children, Chris and Stacie, and four grandchildren.

Rebecca is a lifelong resident of the Ashland and Flatwoods area. She has been employed with Steen Funeral Homes since 2010. Rebecca graduated from Paul G. Blazer High School in 1967 and retired from Ashland Oil Inc. as Executive Meetings Coordinator following 23 years of service. She is a member of Bridges Christian Church. Rebecca is married to Greg Caniff. They have three children, Steve, Kim and Terri, and eight grandchildren.
