Barbara Lou Sturgill

Barbara Lou Sturgill, 84, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods. Barbara was born March 31, 1933 in Ironton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Sturgill, Jr, her son Thomas Lee Sturgill and a grandson Justin Graham Wells.
Barbara completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio State University and her masters at Morehead State University. She taught third and fourth grades at Summit Elementary. She traveled extensively with her late husband to many locations around the world and was a licensed pilot.
Survivors include her daughter Debra Dellay of Lexington, and her grandson Harrison Chase Dellay also of Lexington.
Funeral services will begin 1:00pm Monday, Feb, 26, 2018 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 Noon till 1:00 at the funeral home.
