Dr. Paul H. Gray, 90, of Ashland, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Dr. Gray was born on January 18, 1927, in Uxbridge, MA, a son of the late Homer and Rose Morin Gray.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Oney Gray and his sisters Ruth Myers and Debbie Cnossen.

Dr. Gray was fondly called Doc by friends.  He was a loving husband, father and friend.  He was a charter member of the Ashland Plaza Church of the Nazarene and was very active in the church all of his life. He served as a youth leader, on many boards and helped start the Work and Witness program, of which he went on several mission trips serving as a dentist. He always strived to serve the Lord in any way that he could.

Dr. Gray obtained his undergraduate studies from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and completed dentistry school at Tufts University of Dental Medicine. He was a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Gray practiced dentistry in Ashland, KY for more than 46 years, having started his practice in the Mayo Mansion before moving to his Lexington Avenue Office, from which he retired.

He is survived by sons Dr. Paul E. Gray and wife Kim of Ashland, KY, Dr. Charles Gray and wife Carol of Greenwood, SC and Daniel Gray and wife Mollie of Silver Springs, MD; a daughter Pamela Bowman and husband Todd of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Paul Gray and wife Becca, John Gray and wife Sarah, Allie Hill and husband Nate, Tyler Bowman, Chelsea Ledbetter and husband Andy, Shelby Johnson and husband Brian, Taylor Gray, Matilda Gray and Joshua Gray; great-grandchildren Nathan Gray, Lydia Gray, Elizabeth Gray, Annie Gray and Katie Gray; a sister Joan Keller; and his caregiver Mitzi Davidson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Plaza Community Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Reverend Don Dunlap.  Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service from 2:00-3:00pm.

Full Military Honors will be presented prior to entombment at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
