Paul M. Moyer

Paul Montgomery Moyer, 89, of Ashland, passed away August 3, 2017, in King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1927, in North Kenova, Ohio, a son of the late Charles M. and Linnie Waugh Moyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie Kathleen Morrison Moyer in 2003; and his first son, Arnold Moyer. Paul was a member of Normal Presbyterian Church and Hampton Masonic Lodge 235 in Catlettsburg. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and owner and manager of Community Foodland for 26 years. Survivors include a son, Rev. Guy (Jennifer) Moyer of Rush; daughters, Paula Faye (Bill) Gannon of Ashland, and Leslie Moyer (Joe) Caudill of Ashland; sisters, Helena Moyer and Judy Moyer White of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Jeff (Rhonda) Gannon, Jason (Beth) Gannon, Chase Moyer, Aaron (Janie) Moyer, Jordan Moore and Taylor Moore; Great Grandchildren, Joe (Torie) Gannon, Heather Gannon, Caroline Gannon, Abigail Gannon, Charlie Gannon, Cole Gannon, Sophie Gannon, Vivian Moyer and Declan Moyer; great-great grandchildren, Addison Gannon, Xander Gannon and Clayton Gannon; and a host of extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Normal Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brian Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel. He will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
