Anna Elizabeth Akers

Anna Elizabeth Akers, 103, of Ashland, KY passed away on January 19, 2022 at the Lantern in Russell, KY. She was born on July 25, 1918 in Ashland, KY to the late Tracy and Margaret Clark Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Willard Akers as well as her eleven siblings.
She was a Homemaker and a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Ashland where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and was involved in Community Bible Study. Anna also enjoyed playing Bridge, was a member of the Arky Star Square Dance Club as well as the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by a daughter Margaret Kay (Dr. David) Pinkston of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Dr. Christopher Todd Pinkston (Meagan) of Ashland, KY, and Laura Elizabeth Niffenegger (Derek) of Evansville, IN, and great grandchildren Allison Paige Pinkston, Liam Charles Niffenegger and Kenzie Elizabeth Niffenegger. Ann is also survived by her dear friend Jean Bills.
Funeral services will be held at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL on Monday, January 24th at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Reverend Jeff Brammel. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 PM.
