Tribute


Benjamin Lee Grimm, “Ben”, 41, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, November 17, 2023 in Ashland Ky, with his loving family by his side, along with his special nurse, Brookelynn. 
Ben was born June 6, 1982 in Ashland, a son of Kelli Jones of Grayson, KY and the late Timothy Grimm. In addition to his parents, his grandparents Robert and Dorothy Grimm, James and Emma Coburn Bobby and Elsie Jones, Howard Fritts and his uncle Mike Grimm also preceded him in death.
Ben was in the pilot Mainstreaming Program at Boyd County High School, which helps individuals with the practice of educating students with special needs in regular classes during specific time periods, based on their individual skills. He was a 2003 graduate of Russell High School. Even though Ben had disabilities, that didn’t stop him from making friends everywhere he went. Ben participated with the organization “A Brighter Future” which seeks to provide supports to individuals with disabilities through an eclectic approach that uses creativity and empathy to allow participants the opportunity to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Many people from ABF gave Ben a brighter life. To know Ben was to love Ben, he made an impact on everyone who had the privilege to have known him. He loved to listen to “his music” and had a remarkable knack for remembering your name and the kind of vehicle you drove. He will be deeply missed by his family and his friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Kelli Jones of Grayson, his beloved “Nanny” Caroline Fritts, his step mother Sandra Grimm Raybourn (David), sister Maggie Grimm (Whitney), uncle Jeff Grimm (Wendy), Aunt Dawn Justice (Rick), Aunt Jeri Rose, Aunt Holly Fritts, special Uncle Doc, special Aunts Debbie and Judy, special family, Uncle Mikey, Aunt Paula and Cousin Jeffrey, additional family members include  nephews Eoin and Drake, cousins, Jon (Ashley), Rebekah (Steve), Amber, Brandon, Kayleigh, Jonah, Eli, Carlee, Luke, Joseph, Hailey and special brothers Chris Goff, Eric Parker and a host of extended family and good friends.
Funeral services will be held 12.00 Noon Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL by Rev. Gene Swartz, followed by a 2:00pm mass of Christian burial at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1121 Meadowbrook Lane, Louisa, KY by Father Marc Bentley with burial following in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.
Visitation will be prior to services Wednesday at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel beginning at 11:00am.
