Captola Chinn

Captola “Cappy” Chinn, 96, of Orange Park, FL, formerly of Ashland, returned to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at her residence.

She was born November 27, 1924, in Lepanto, Arkansas, a daughter of the late P.H. and Ola May Jernigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Bryson Chinn; a son, David Jernigan Chinn; and several siblings.

Captola lived a long and fulfilling life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She traveled extensively and enjoyed living in Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. While in Ashland, Captola was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, which was built by her husband, Clarence. She was a Kentucky Colonel and was head of the state P.T.A. She retired following a long career as a Recruiter for Union University Baptist College.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Kenneth B. Chinn and wife, Cecilia of Orange Park, FL; daughter in law, Teena Chinn of Midway, KY; grandchildren, Jameson Bryson Chinn, Kenna Lori Chinn and Paul David Chinn; and great grandchildren, Khloe Chinn, Thomas B. Chinn and Theodore B. Chinn.

A private burial was held in Ashland Cemetery.
