Carl Edward Kittle, 79, of Summit, died peacefully Sunday morning, August 2, 2020, at his residence.

He was born July 11, 1941, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Arthur Carl Kittle and Minerva Martin Kittle.

He was a 1959 graduate of Boyd County High School and he played in a softball league for many years after graduation. He retired following a long career as an electrician with IBEW 369. Carl loved serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and volunteered for the food pantry. He and his wife, Jerri served as past youth leaders and he was the boys basketball coach for many years. He was UK Basketballs biggest fan, he and his wife had season tickets for 43 years. He was a member of the Rush Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years, Jerri McGuire Kittle of Summit; three daughters, Carla Kittle of Summit, Robin Kittle Bennett and husband, Glenn, of Red Bluff, CA and Angie Kittle Ramey of Summit; four precious grandchildren whom he adored, Kristen McKee, Evan Bennett (Britt), Andrew Akers and Sydney Ramey; a great grandchild, Marshall Bennett and baby Bennett due Jan. 2021; mother in law, Dixie McGuire of Catlettsburg; two sisters, Darlene Meyers (Steve) and Donna Williamson, both of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Bruce Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available on the funeral home website.
