Charles E. Wallace

Charles Eugene Wallace, 78, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday evening at the UK Medical Center in Lexington following a short illness. Mr. Wallace was born February 1, 1945 in Flatwoods, KY, a son of the late George and Otelia Dotson Wallace.
Charles retired from AK Steel as a maintenance repairman after 40 years of dedicated service. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the non denominational Christian Fellowship.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Sharon Wallace of Ashland, his son Michael Wallace and wife Lisa of Boerne, TX, grandchildren Luke Wallace and Avery Wallace, a brother George (Susan) Wallace of Ashland, sisters Mary Chapman of Ashland and Janet (Doug) Vanover of Russell. Additional survivors include a niece, nephew, many friends and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel. Eunice Ladwig, Bill Denk and Tanner Shomin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 12:00 Noon on Monday at the funeral home.
