Daniel Patrick Sheridan, 86, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1932, in Pittsburgh, (Mount Washington), PA, a son of the late Francis Harold and Lucille May Wallace Sheridan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Lee Gilmore Sheridan on October 22, 2014; a son, Timothy Ryan Sheridan on January 8, 1984; and 9 siblings.

Dan was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and retired as a supervisor at Calgon Carbon after many years of service.

Dan was an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh. He formerly served as a volunteer at Neville Island Fire Department and Ashland Community Kitchen. Dan and his wife Margaret enjoyed extensive travel with the Joy Club and especially loved their international travels.

Survivors include a son, Daniel P. (Tina) Sheridan, Jr. of Ashland, KY; a daughter, Cathy Jackson of Catlettsburg; five grandchildren, Honey Lee (John) Rodgers, Holli Ann (Scott) Feller, Joshua (Amy) Jackson, Hillary Ryan (Holly) Sheridan and Daniel P. (Kayla) Sheridan III; eight great grandchildren, John Rodgers IV, Sawyer Feller, Greta Rose Rodgers, Emily Brooke Jackson, Nicholas Timothy Jackson, Thea Sheridan, Beau Sheridan and Mason Sheridan; a sister, Mary Joan Sheridan of Bridgeville, PA; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father D. Andrew Canon Garner, KHS presiding. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North East.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel where a Rosary service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dan’s memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic School, 900 Winchester Ave, Ashland, KY 41101.
