Danny Lowe Mooney, 52, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2020.
He was born August 4, 1967, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Delphia Blevins Mooney of Flatwoods, and the late Willis Mooney.
Danny was a very active member of Garner Missionary Baptist Church. He retired following a 26 year career with the Ashland Police Department and currently worked at the Federal Building as a Court Security Officer. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge 3, was an avid outdoorsman and UK fan but most importantly was a devoted husband, father and Christian.
In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 30 years, Julie Jarvis Mooney; daughter, Carley Mooney; sisters, Johnda (Tom) Holbrook, Debbie (Chuck) Oliver, Jeanette (Danny) Calloway, Melodee Mooney and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at Garner Missionary Baptist Church with a celebration of Danny’s life beginning at 6 p.m. with words of comfort provided by Bob Quillen and Gary Arrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny’s memory should be directed to the Carley Mooney College Fund c/o PNC Bank.
