David Rowe

David Rowe, Sr, 82, of Westwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his loving wife of 54 years Barbara on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Rowe was born September 23, 1937 in Louisa, KY, a son of the late Edgel and Miranda Preston Rowe. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother Arby Rowe and a sister Betty Rowe Hughes.
David was raised in Ashland and attended Ashland High School. He enlisted in the Army and served his country honorably. After the military he worked with the former Johnsons Dairy as a supervisor and delivery driver. He worked in carpentry with a company he founded, Big Four Home Improvement, he also worked at Special Metals in Burnaugh, KY and retired from Huntington Alloys in Huntington, WV.
In his spare time he loved woodworking, working on lawn mowers and tractors.
He will be remembered as a devoted and loving father to his children and grandchildren. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and neighbors.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons David Rowe, Jr and wife Tammy of Pikeville, KY, Edgel Rowe and wife Denise of Ironville, daughters Donna Lambert and husband Richard of Westwood, Nancy Conley of Westwood, brother Paul (Cinda) Rowe of Ironville, sister Imogene (Fred) Wright of Catlettsburg, grandchildren, Brittany (Tony) LoRe, Austin (Cassie) Rowe, Nathan Conley, Andrew Conley, great grandchildren Aaliyah, Brighton and Emory Jo Rowe, 1 step grandson, 4 step granddaughters, 13 step great grandchildren and a host of extended family and good friends.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Jack Salyers. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 11:00am till service time at Noon at the funeral home.
