Dennie Salyers

Dennie Burton Salyers, 84, of Ashland, died on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born in Gragston Creek in Wayne County, West Virginia on March 27, 1938 to the late Homer B. and Ella Phillips Salyers.

His wife Ethel Fannin Burton Salyers preceded him in death earlier this year. His two sons David B. Salyers, and Jeffrey Salyers, three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

He is survived by one sister Linda (Michael) Gutierrez, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved him.

He was a decorated veteran of the USAF, retired from a long career at Novamont Corporation and was an active member of the Greenhill Masonic Lodge#521 and the El Hasa Shrine until his health began to decline in recent years. He resided in Ashland, Kentucky for many years. He loved bluegrass music and loved to play the fiddle.

Masonic services will begin at 1:00pm Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with funeral services to follow by Pastor Lee Jackson. Military rites by the American Legion Post 93 and members of the United States Air Force will conclude services.
Burial will be privately held on Monday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
