Emma Jane Harper, longtime resident of Catlettsburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday September 25, 2020. Jane was under care of the Hospice Care Center in Ashland at the time of her passing, she was 84.
Jane was born December 23, 1935 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Fred, Sr. and Ruth Williams Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Kelly Dawson Harper, Jr., and her brothers Fred, Bill and Don Hunt.
Jane was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland. She retired from Kentucky Farmers Bank as vice president of the loan department.
Jane loved her God, her family, friends and her card games. She was blessed to have such wonderful neighbors and friends, especially that rowdy Friday lunch group. She was loved by many and will be missed be all that knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Clara Boggs of Catlettsburg, Susan Spencer of Lewisburg, WV, sister Sue Dennin of Ironton, her grandchildren she adored Veronica (Brandon) Hoke, Jenifer Wada, Hope Nicole Boggs, great grandchildren Dawson Wada, Emma Pope, Harper Lynn Carmona, Chloe Anna Jane Hoke, her special “best friend” throughout the years Marianna Plummer, several nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 4:00pm Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor Jeremy Couture.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm till service time at 4:00.
