Ernest Eugene Bush

Ernest Eugene Bush, 83, of Ashland KY went to be with his Lord, on October 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 21, 1936 to the late Ernest A and Juanita Sloan Bush. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Williams Bush in January of 2000.
He was retired from Armco/AK Steel after 36 years where he was maintenance foreman in the hot strip mill. He served in the Kentucky National Guard for nine years and was a Kentucky Colonel and a KDMC Volunteer. Ernest loved to travel and had visited 48 states. He was a faithful member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where he served as a greeter, loved visitation and to share in his testimony.
He is survived by sons Michael E. Bush (Claudia), Dr. David K. Bush (Kimberly) and John T. Bush (Gina) all of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Johnny Bush (Shaina) of Ashland, KY, Kyle Bush (Sarah) of Marion, AL, David Bush, Jr. and Rachael Bush both of Ashland, KY; great grandchildren Kayden Bush and Jensen Bush, and a brother Kenneth R. Bush (Kay) of Ashland, KY.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Matt Shamblin. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
