Everett Franklin Seagraves, 87, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland surrounded by those he loved. Everett was born February 13, 1932 in Grahn, Kentucky, a son of the late Fleming H. and Hattie Mosier Seagraves. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers Glenn Seagraves, Danny Seagraves, Fleming Seagraves, Jr. a sister Geraldine Eldridge and a grandson Shane Justice.
Mr. Seagraves was a member of the Christ Temple Church in Ashland and served as Pastor for the Grayson United Pentecostal Church for many years. He retired from Armco Steel Company after 38 years of service as a Rigger. Everett also served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years Ella Eunice Carroll Seagraves of Ashland, sons E. Michael Seagraves and wife Brenda of Pomeroy, OH, David N. Seagraves and wife Glenda of Catlettsburg, Christopher A. Seagraves and wife Kristy of Proctorville, KY, daughter Patricia L. Justice of Ashland, brother Charles (Bonnie) Seagraves of Grahn, KY, sisters Christine Cantrell of Columbus, OH, Imogene (Ben) Eldridge of Grayson, KY, Suzie (William) Maxie of Columbus, OH, grandchildren Ryan Justice, Nik Seagraves, Steffany Patterson, Jacob Seagraves, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Keith Watters. Entombment with full military honors will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
