Franklin VanDyke

Franklin “Frank” Grey VanDyke 44, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

He was born October 5, 1977, in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Frank was the president of his family owned business, VanDyke, Inc. He was a PADI certified master scuba diver and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved tinkering with engines and spent many days at the gun range. Above all, Frank loved being a father to Rylan Grey VanDyke and Mason and Gatlin Wilks. He spent many days playing and coaching baseball and enjoying outdoor activities that he loved as a child. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Gary and Brenda VanDyke of The Villages, Florida; sons, Rylan VanDyke and Mason and Gatlin Wilks of Ashland, Kentucky, as well as their mother, Indi Miller VanDyke; sister, Kristin (Brandon) Childress of Lexington, Kentucky, along with his nephews, Braxton and Maddox Childress; aunt, Beverly (Will) Sellars of Maryville, TN.; cousins, Amy (Kevin) Roberts, Kati Sellars and Zach Sellars of Maryville, TN; aunt, Gloria VanDyke of Jeffersonville, IN; cousins, Melissa (Rick) Morehouse, Lori Barger and Mark Brisson of Clarksville, IN. He was preceded in death by two sets of grandparents and a maternal uncle. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL.
