Harold D. Bayes

Harold Dean Bayes, 84, of Catlettsburg, passed away Sunday morning, December 8, 2019 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Mr. Bayes was born October 14, 1935 in Paintsville, KY, a son of the late Moody and Alky Conley Bayes. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Alvin Bayes.
Harold retired from AK steel as an Inspector with over 30 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and served his country honorably during the Korean War with the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Doris Brown Bayes of Catlettsburg, sons Harold D. Bayes, Jr. and wife Pam of Catlettsburg, Joe Bayes and wife Connie of Georgetown, KY, grandchildren Laura Bayes, Katie Bayes (Matt) McCutcheon, Kristie Bayes, a great granddaughter Aubree McCutcheon and a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. There will be no visitation.
Funeral services are under the direction of Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel.
