Janet Walker

Janet C. Walker, 87, of Ashland, passed away Thursday evening, June 8, 2023 at Woodland Oaks Health Care. Janet was born October 12, 1935 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Lendon Frances and Nora Francis Galliher Kemper. In addition to her parents, her husband William Walker, brothers, Jim Kemper, Cecil Kemper, sisters, Maxine O’Brien, and Bonnie Kemper Imes preceded her in death.
Janet attended Thirteenth Street Baptist Church and was a teller for Bank of Ashland for many years. She was a devoted homemaker and deeply loved her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son William Walker and wife Jane of Catlettsburg, KY, brothers Donald Kemper, Jack Kemper, sisters Shirley Ruth Wellman, Peggy Elaine Kemper, Rita Rae Wilson, Willadean Weatherly and Carolyn Jill Whitt and husband Colin, granddaughters Rachel Ashton Walker-Hicks and husband Aaron, and Katherine Lee Romine and husband Dylan, a beautiful great granddaughter Addison Grace Walker, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jim Byrd.
Visitation will be prior to service from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Ashland Cemetery.
