Jerry Susan Prater Renn

Jerry Susan Prater Renn, 67, of Ashland, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, in the Community Hospice Care Center.

She was born September 26, 1951, in Pikeville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Robert V. and Ethel Fields Prater. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Renn in 2006.

Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School. She retired from Ohio Valley Wholesale after many years of service and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, David Rogers of Ashland, and Steve Rogers and wife, Britta of Flatwoods; two step children, Sean Renn and Tana Gibbs and husband, Steve; brother, Robert “Bobby” Prater of Ashland; sister, Joan Combs and husband, Robert of Ashland; grandchildren, McKenzie Blake Rogers, Brockton Lee Rogers, McKenna Bentley Rogers, Kayleigh Ann Castle, Ariya Ansley Rogers and Ayla Grace Rogers; step mother, Wilma Prater of Ashland; special friend, Barry Metcalf of Richmond, KY; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, step grandchildren extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
