John Mark Davis, 59, of Ashland, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland after a sudden illness.
John was born April 19, 1958 in Ashland, a son of John Harold Davis & wife Rosemary of Ashland and the late Ginger Fields Davis. In addition to his mother John was also preceded in death by his brother Matthew Clinton Davis and his brother-in-law Roger Webb.
John was a lifelong Ashland resident. He was a 1976 graduate of Paul Blazer High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his MBA from Morehead State University. John recently retired as a professor from Ashland Community and Technical College.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years Lucy Dawson Davis of Ashland, his son John Fields Davis and wife Emily of Ashland, his daughter Lucy Henderson Davis of Charleston, South Carolina, sisters Lisa (Paul) Glockner of Ashland, Lezlie Stephens of Ashland and many nieces and nephews.
A service to honor John’s life will be held 7:00pm Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by his dear friend Marty Gute.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral prior to the service.
