Larry Monroe Stovall, 74, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Larry was born September 19, 1946 in Dallas, TX, a son of the late Monroe and Lucille McGee Stovall.
Larry served his country honorably with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. In his life, his services were to God. He was a youth minister at Prairie Garden Baptist Church, a choir director at multiple churches, including Pollard Baptist Church in Ashland and Lavalette United Methodist Church in Lavalette, WV. He also sang in multiple gospel groups and as a soloist. Larry lived his life to serve God and spread God’s love through music.
Survivors include his loving wife Denise Paige Stovall of Ashland, sons Michael (Julie) Stovall of Houston, TX, Matthew (Deah) Stovall of Milton, WV, daughters Amy (Chip) York of McKinney, TX, Rebecca (Sean) Duncan of Encinitas, CA, Paige (Robert) Stovall of Ashland, KY, Deidra (Nathan) DiLuvio of Louisa, KY, brothers Danny (Nancy) Stovall of Mesquite, TX, Randy (Corina) Stovall of Dallas, TX, Judy (Ronnie) Whitley of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Chance Stovall, Colin Sovall, Alex Farmer, Marc Farmer, Nathan Stovall, Zachary Stovall, Nathan York, Ian York, Ella York, Milo Spearman, Emma Duncan, Sophia Duncan, Jakyb Miller, Nathan DiLuvio, Maelee DiLuvio, Leia Hanshaw, several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and good friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Greg Matney.
Visitation will be held prior to services from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the funeral home.
