Marilyn Joyce Cavin, 70, of Ashland, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020.
She was born September 19, 1950, in Kenova, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby Nickell O’Bryan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig Allen Cavin; two infant daughters, Kimberly Kay Cavin and Joyce Ann Cavin; and a brother, Arthur O’Bryan.
Marilyn was a member of Sandy City Free Will Baptist Church where she served as president of the Ladies Circle Group. She and her husband owned and operated Carpet World and Fast Eddie’s Catering Truck for many years. She enjoyed exercising at the YMCA, traveling, loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was an Avid UK Basketball fan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth Cavin of Ashland; son, Jeff (Jenn) Cavin of Buford, GA; daughter, Kelli Cavin (Carlos) Duncan of Ashland; sister, Sandy Riggs of Flatwoods; brother, Billy (Betty) Nickell of Ashland; grandchildren, Bryant, Adison (Miriam), Kayla, Kameron and Harlee; two step grandchildren; a great grandchild, Adison Weber Cavin and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Raymond Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North East.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the funeral home.
