Martha Hammonds, 81, of Rush, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 06, 2019, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
She was born February 5, 1938, in Louisa, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Eddie and Laura Ball Lemaster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Hammonds.
Martha was a member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide and was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Wanda (James) Rogers of Rush; sisters, Etta Holt of Huntington, WV, and Carol Hogsten of Louisa, KY; two grandsons, Josh (Krista) Rogers of Cannonsburg and Jeremy (Lora) Rogers of Rush ; four great grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Raelee and Owen; and two great-great granddaughters, Emmalynn and Blakelynn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Keith Crum and Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers-Hammonds Family Cemetery in Rush.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
