Michael Dale Wood

Michael Dale Wood 70, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away at Oakmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

He was born in Huntington, West Virginia on July 12, 1952, to the late Carl Elsworth Wood and Patricia Swisher Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bradford Michael Wood.

Mike retired as Manager of Spare Time Recreation in Ironton, Ohio following a 25 year career. In his free time he loved bowling and golfing.

Survivors include a daughter, Stacey Lea (and husband, James) Wilhoite of Richmond, KY; two brothers, Steve (and wife, Judy) Wood of Lexington, KY, and David Wood of Ashland, KY; a sister, Sharon (and husband, David) Price of Ashland, KY; two grandchildren, Ethan Michael Wood of Richmond, KY, and Ava Brooke Wood of Lawrenceburg, KY; a niece, Jessica (and husband, Jeremy) Skeans and their son, Max Skeans of Ashland, KY; and a nephew, Justin Wood and his son, Rory of Lexington, KY.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Spare Time Recreation, 2216 South 3rd Street, Ironton, OH 45638 at a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
