Phyllis Artrip

Phyllis Lunsford Artrip, 75, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday evening, November 29, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born July 26, 1942 in Lawrence County, OH., a daughter of the late Clarence and Dellamae Lawson Lunsford. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers Eddie Lunsford and Sam Lunsford, a grandson Elijah Artrip and a son-in-law Don Jarrell.

Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She had strong family values and loved her husband Jim deeply. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years James E. “Jim” Artrip of Ashland, sons James “Sambo” Artrip of Ashland, Tim Artrip of Ashland, Phillip Artrip of Catlettsburg, Shawn (Anna) Artrip of Ashland, daughters Tammy Jarrell of Marion, OH, Dawn Artrip of Ashland, brother Clarence "Peewee" (Sue) Lunsford, sisters Shirley Lunsford of Wurtland, KY, Thelma Bishop of Argillite, Penny Adkins of Florida, Linda Lewis of Ironton, OH, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Gary Wurts and Clell Lucas. Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon-2:00pm at the funeral home.
