Steven Andrew Mays

Steven Andrew Mays, 47, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 18, 1973, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Rick (Debbie) Mays of Ashland, and Linda McIntyre (Robert) Justice of Ashland.

Steve was a 1991 graduate of Boyd County High School and graduated from Life Christian University with a degree in Theology. He was the former Pastor at Catlettsburg Harvest Church of God.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his children, Hunter Mays, Lakin Mays and Kennedy Mays all of Ashland; sister, Lynne Mays of Ashland; brothers, Joshua (Barbie) Mays and Jonathan Mays of Ashland; paternal grandfather, Lewis Buford (Ruie) Mays of Flatwoods; the mother of his children Lea Ann (Kevin) McLeod of Ashland; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at Catlettsburg Harvest Church of God with words of comfort provided by his father, Pastor Rick Mays and Pastor Delbert Dixon. Burial will follow in Kirby Flats Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, at the church.
